This wonderful instrument was built in 1949. It served its church faithfully until the closing of the church in 2010, when it was removed by Holtkamp, and has been in storage since. Its success is mirrored by its conspicuous inclusion in Blanton’s The Organ in Church Design. The original casework is still intact. It predates Syracuse by one year. In scaling and voicing it is similar to Christ Episcopal Church, Lexington, KY and St. John Cathedral, Cleveland, OH. When it goes to its new home, the cost to update, restore, install and regulate is in the range of $500,000 – 550,000. This is a real bargain for 37 stops.
